Mashime - Update #3

Hello there!

First of all, I want to apologise for not posting updates since New Years, Yes.. A long time ago.

Okay, this update it going to be about some special features on Mashime.

1. Creating and Visiting events/rooms.
I have talked about this on Update #2 but I want to update you on the changes we have made.
- You can create one event at a time.
- You can cancel your event and create another.
- When creating an event you can lock your event with a password [Password Locked].
- You can give your event a name, password and description about the event you're creating.
- Users including you can vote for eachothers events with [+] or [-].
This will make a vote on that event and the event with most votes will stay on top of the Event List. [Update #2]
- Your event will automatically delete after two hours unless you have over 10 votes a day [+].
[You can keep an event open longer with coins].
- You will see further updates on this when playing..

2. Walking and talking.
- Walking on Mashime is a big part of the 'virtual world' creation.
You'll be able to choose one of the 169 tiles in a room to walk on.. [Update #2].
- Here on Mashime we have an isometric pathfinding system that will find the shortest way of getting to your chosen tile, awesome right?
You may have seen or played another game with pathfinding.
- We have made several plans on the way users communicate on Mashime, floating bubbles, text above avatar and much more. I have picked a
more simple way of chatting/talking and a way you can still see everything going on in the game, we finally designed and programmed a
chatLog system that is dragable from the top of the screen. When ever someone chats in the current room, the dragBar will flash a green.
On Quackbay we realized that people were spamming our auto chatLog system, we are still using a auto spamming detecting system, but we
are also using a countdown from everytime someone chats, the chatbar will disable and countdown from three, two, one and then enables
the chatbar again.
- We may disable the countdown on some peoples accounts once we have checked their logs.

I'll be updating this blog more often.

Mashime - Update #2

Hello there!

First of all, Aiden and I just want to say Happy New Year!

Okay, I'm going to give you another update, this time I'll be talking about Mashime's Events and Rooms.

Our room designs are very basic, each room will have 169 tiles, you will be able to purchase more tiles for an room extension later on in Mashime's Timeline.

If you're wondering "What do they mean by 'Event'?"..
An Mashime Event is a room creation made by you, you will be able to create as many events as you like, they will come under 'Trade, Room decoration, party, hangout and many more. People will then be able to visit your event once your event has appeared on the 'EventList'. Only 8 events will be displayed on the EventList and people will have the ability to vote your event room, the room with the most votes will be shown at the top of the EventList until someones event gets kicked off. =)

I know some of you have been wanting to have a sneak preview of the rooms/events, so here it is!

SPECIAL PREVIEW:

Nothing that special really. ;)
So now you know what the rooms look like, you will be able to decorate them and even change your room wall colour using HTML chart colours. Cool huh?

Mashime - Update #1

Hello there!

In October 2011, Aiden and I had a awesome idea for a new world for teenagers, we didn't won't it to get old quick, nothing boring that everyone will complain about, but something cool that everyone will love.
Once we wrote our ideas down, we had to come up with a cool name. We asked several people on forums, chats and more, but we just couldn't choose one that we both really liked. So it was our 6th day of choosing a name, we was just thinking of a short, funky name that will sound cool for a teenagers game. Loads of names came into our heads.. originally I thought of Google Translating some names that would sound cool, but that's when I typed Mashime, The Google Translate Lady said it perfectly! <3 (We both fell in love with it!)

If you wondering "Who actually thought of the names of our games?"
Quackbay - Aiden thought of the name.
Mashime - Ryan's thought of the name. (With some help from Google Translate Lady!)
Hehe, now you know! ;)

Soooo, Over the past few months, me and Aiden have been designing Mashime. It's a pathfinding, isometrics view engine with walking avatars in directions.

When users first sign up they will get to choose a gender, boy or girl. Once chosen they will get to enter a username, password, email and their date of birth (D.O.B).

They will then get to pick out of some clothing, A Shirt Colour, Shorts Colour, and Colour Skin.
TIP: You will be able to change your clothing for free once signed up!

SPECIAL PREVIEW:

So now you know what the Register System is like! Well almost! ;)
Please note that we have change all of our designs of boxes and I will be posting a preview soon!
Keep checking back for more updates on Mashime! xD

Introduction - Quackbay

Hello there! You may know me as RyanBoyling, the admin of Quackbay.

Back in the Summer of  2009 me and my brother (Aiden) came up with some great ideas to create a virtual world. We was using our creative mind of imagination and started going into game making in Macromedia Flash 8. We started using a server called SmartFoxServer, from there we made our systems and designing graphics for Quackbay.

Quackbay was our first attempt at developing a multiplayer game. It was pretty simple. Each player could give their duck a username, select a colour for their duck, chat and explore a several rooms on a bay.

On the 13th December 2010 we decided to launched Beta Testing Quackbay to public.

Sadly Quackbay was closed 4 months later due to server costs.

While Quackbay was offline to public, Me and Aiden was busy designing Quackbay MegaBeta. This version of Quackbay was still in Beta Testing Mode but we changed everything, themes, colours, designs, rooms and much more including a Slot Inventory. (We also fixed a lot of small glitches.)

In the early 2011 Quackbay was ready to launch V 3.1, This version included lots of new features!

The new Login.
The new Disco.
The new Town.

As you can see the whole design of Quackbay has completely changed during 2011.

Quackbay's Servers have been down during Version 3.1 due to Hackers and Errors.

We now sell memberships that give you alot more when registered for Quackbay, Buy a Membership!

You can also donate to Quackbay and help keep it open, click here!

And the story goes on and on..

If you would like to know more information about Quackbay then please leave a comment and I'll try my best to respond. :)
